The Walter J. Lemke Department of Journalism sponsors the Lemke Journalism Project.
The department is in the J. William Fulbright College of Arts & Sciences at the University of Arkansas. It is located on the first floor of Kimpel Hall.
The program offers undergraduate journalism degrees in print/multimedia, broadcast and advertising/public relations. It also offers a multi-disciplinary master’s degree, including a documentary film program.
Student media includes The Arkansas Traveler, the student newspaper; UATV, student-run television; KXUA, student-produced radio; and The Razorback, the award-winning yearbook.
LJP students get to know the journalism faculty during the program, which makes the transition easier from high school to college.
The journalism department leads nearly all other departments in providing scholarships to students, who are able to apply for them in the spring of their freshmen year.
